A CLIENT’S PERSPECTIVE	


     Treat me like a child and I will be childish.


     Treat me like I am incompetent and I will not believe I can
     make decisions.


     Take responsibility away and I will act irresponsible.


     Treat me like just another case in the mental health factory
     system, and I will find it hard to care about myself.


     Take away dignity and I will find it hard to feel self worth.


     Label me and I will only think of myself as that label.


     Treat me like I don’t know what is best for me, and I will
     become passive and dependent.


     Treat me like I am chronically mentally ill, and I will see
     myself  as chronic with no hope for growth or a productive,
     rich, life.
