Hundreds of thousands of mental health clients in California live on low incomes and managed treatment regimes. This is commonly known as “warehousing.” Treatment & case management are often undertaken on the basis of ‘safety’ as judged by the provider. The hopes and dreams of the client are often disregarded, discouraged, even disparaged. What kind of work program for PAI would address this sort of discriminatory condition?
